inspired by a son. designed by a dad.

Tuhura is a Maori word meaning, to explore, discover, investigate and bring to light. As a father of a five year old boy, to me, this word epitomises what being a boy is all about. Tuhura came out of a desire to create clothes that were stylish, current and unique, and we were all about boys. So, Tuhura began, designing and creating fun and stylish clothing that reflected being a boy.

A Tuhura, we know that there is too much plastic already in this world, and we don't want to add to the problem. Did you know that the usual practice for new clothing, is that each individual garment is wrapped in a plastic bag, and clothing items often have plastic tags or ties. So at Tuhura we are doing our bit. All of our clothing is packaged in paper bags, which are recyclable, or preferably reused, and our tags are made from paper and hemp.
